Sponsors, Programme Announced for Victam Asia Conf

GENERAL - The Australian Renderers Association and the New Zealand Meat Industry Association Renderers Group have joined Buhler as major sponsors for Aquafeed Horizons Asia and are the exclusive sponsors of FIAAP (Feed Ingredients & Additives Asia Pacific), to be held alongside Victam Asia 2010.

The conferences bring top notch technical experts fom around the globe to dicuss developments in formulation and feed technology. In 2010, there will be three presenters from Australia.

At FIAAP 2010, he will talk about rapid analysis prediction of available energy in feed grains. Data will be presented from Australian research on the variation that naturally occurs in feed grains and how different grains are better suited for each livestock species. The link between grain physical and chemical characteristics and its available energy content will also be discussed.

David M. Smith BAppSc started working as a consultant research scientist in aquaculture nutrition on his retirement from CSIRO in January 2009. He had worked for CSIRO studying crustacean physiology and nutrition for 38 years, and had led the crustacean nutrition research at CSIRO Marine Research since 1991. He had been Principal Investigator of projects studying nutrient requirements, feeding strategies, developing new diets and investigating replacement of fishmeal with terrestrial ingredients. He will discuss the benefits of grain application in aquafeeds.
