Sea products exports earn Iran approx. $44m

TEHRAN - Fish and other sea products worth around $43.822 million were exported in the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2006), indicating an 18.6 percent increase when compared to the figure in the same period in the past year.

Sea products accounted for 0.1 percent of the weight and 0.3 percent of the value of Iran’s non-oil exports during the period, the Customs Administration said on Wednesday.

The exported products amounted to 25,759 tons in terms of weight, which is indicative of a 68.4 percent growth in comparison with the same period last year.

Exports of fresh, frozen, and smoked fish during the period hit $27,031,000 which accounted for around 0.2 percent of the value of the sector’s total exports.
