Ten 120m circumference Triton pens were supplied by Fusion Marine for the site along with a range of accessories including bird net support wheels and sinker tubes.
Triton is a tough and well proven fish farm pen system specially developed for high energy and exposed sea sites.
The order was completed at Fusion Marine’s coastal manufacturing base at the Marine Resource Centre in Barcaldine, Argyll, with the completed pens sea-towed for final installation off Muck.
Sean Anderson, Site Manager for Marine Harvest, said: “The pens look great and are performing well. They are now stocked with fish and it is particularly pleasing that this versatile pen system has been manufactured by a local Scottish company.”
The farm site is positive news for the Isle of Muck, creating several new jobs for the remote community. It is also very much a pioneering site, with development trials taking place on two of the Triton450 pens.
Rhuaraidh Edwards, Technical Sales Engineer for Fusion Marine, said: “We are delighted to have supplied our Triton450 pen system to Marine Harvest for their new sea site at Muck. With the future trend of fish farming moving further offshore, these incredibly strong large diameter pens provide the perfect solution for rearing stock in challenging high energy environments.”
