Marking a significant milestone for both the partnership and the development of the country's aquaculture industry, FoodTechBangladesh successfully hosted two events during December 2024. Led by Larive International, the partnership's previous successes include providing almost 150 aquaculture training workshops and supporting 24 research projects to improve farm practices and productivity.
On 9 December, the partnership hosted an event with FishTech - a specialist in aquaculture services and solutions - in Mymensingh. The ceremony was attended by over 70 industry stakeholders as well as representatives of the Dutch embassy, including Sara van Hoeve, First Secretary of Economic Affairs, and Haruni Osman, Senior Policy Officer, who emphasised the importance of the development of the aquaculture industry within Bangladesh.
On 11 December, FoodTechBangladesh hosted an inauguration for a new RAS facility, located in Khulna. The event was attended by Dutch Ambassador Andre Carstens and Inge Klaassen, First Secretary of Water and Climate. In his speech, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of equality and sustainability, in addition to the critical need to ensure food security through sustainable and innovative production methods, ensuring future generations have access to sufficient and healthy food.
