The meeting follows the recent political understanding between the EU and the Faroe Islands to end their dispute on the management of Atlanto-Scandian herring in the North-East Atlantic.
EU and Faroe Islands Discuss Sustainable Fisheries
EU - European Fisheries Commissioner Maria Damanaki welcomed the Minister of Fisheries of the Faroe Islands, Mr Jacob Vestergaard, in Athens for a two-day visit to discuss the common interests between the European Union and Faroe Islands in the sustainable management of pelagic stocks in the North-East Atlantic.
