Deadline nears for OceanHub Africa Acceleration Programme

OceanHub Africa's Acceleration Programme, which seeks to support up to 24 of the continent's most promising for-profit startups dedicated to restoring ocean health, will close applications for its 2025/2026 cohort on 27 December 2024.

Through the Accelerator Programme, OceanHub Africa aims to support the development of a resilient economy which can combat pressing challenges such as climate change, environmental pollution, and worker exploitation. With an established stakeholder network, the programme has been specifically designed to identify and support pathways towards opportunities for stable and scalable growth across Africa.

Startups which are accepted onto the programme will enjoy a range of benefits, such as potential funding of up to $15k, support preparing and conducting investor pitches, access to a portfolio of key impact investors, and opportunities to attend networking events and conferences, including Ocean Innovation Africa. Other benefits include an in-person training boot-camp, and mentorship from scientific, business, and investment experts.

Following their graduation from the OceanHub Africa scheme, successful applicants may also get the opportunity to take part in Katapult Ocean's accelerator programme.

In order to be eligible for the the OceanHub programme, startups must be a for-profit entity operating in Africa, must offer a scalable service or product either on the market or soon to be launched, and must have a direct or indirect positive impact on the world's oceans.
