Cermaq reports high salmon survival

Salmonids Health +1 more

Cermaq, the world’s second largest producer of salmonids, has reported survival rates for its fish varying from 94 to 96 percent.

The Mitsubishi subsidiary, which operates farms in Norway, Chile and Canada also reports no escapes in the last quarter of 2017, or in 2018 to date.

In Norway, none of the company’s fish harvested in the last quarter of 2017 received antibiotic treatment. In Chile and in Canada the need for antibiotic treatment for the fish harvested in the quarter was reduced from same quarter last year, but the company’s ambition is to further reduce the need for treatment.
