Azerbaijan Fish Farm's Production To Increase 28%

AZERBAIJAN - The Khylin fish farm in Azerbaijan is planning to produce 9-9.5 million sturgeon fry this year, an increase of around 28 per cent as compared with 2005, according to the Interfax news agency.

The production figure of around 9 million fry this year will mean that the farm will reach 60 per cent of its designed annual production capacity.

Azeri fish farms plan to release 20 million sturgeon fry into territorial waters this year, a year-on-year increase of 17.6 per cent. Common sturgeon fry will account for 14 million of the overall number of fry to be released.
