This was marginally lower than the 1,319 tonnes harvested by the Floridian firm during the previous quarter - meaning that they have harvested a total of 2,486 tonnes of salmon so far this year, despite their facility being designed to have a capacity of 9,500 tonnes per year.
During the same period, the net biomass gain was approximately 1,697 tonnes, meaning that the standing biomass at the end of the period was 3,235 tonnes – up from 2,997 tonnes the previous quarter.
The company notes that their operational performance and biological situation were “satisfactory”.
The average harvest weight for head on gutted (HOG) salmon in the quarter was 3.1 kg (up from 2.6 kg), while the realised sales price was $9.27 per kg, up from 8.30 per kg in the first three months of the year.
