The equipment does not create any measurable stress for the fish, it eliminates the use of chemicals and reduces the occurence of lice on wild fish in the surrounding environment.
The Nor-Fishing Foundation Innovation Award presented NOK 100,000 to the group.
This year a total of 18 applicants from Norway and other countries applied.
AQUANOR: Flushing Lice System
NORWAY - Flatsetsund Engineering AS has been awarded the Nor-Fishing Innovation Award for a pumping system that, with built in nozzles, flushes the lice from salmon as the fish are pumped from one cage into another.
