Aquaculture Workshop in Edinburgh

Sustainability +1 more

UK - The National Telford Institute in association with the Scottish Aquaculture Research Forum (SARF) is staging an orientation workshop to discuss the strategic development of aquaculture in Scotland.

The workshop, which will be held on the 24th-25th February at the Royal Society in Edinburgh, aims to raise awareness of the aquaculture sector amongst the engineering community; enhance Scotland's engineering capacity and expertise in the aquaculture sector; and identify knowledge gaps and, where appropriate, framing recommendations for research and development.

A limited number of key players from the fields of aquaculture and civil engineering are to be invited to attend the workshop. Workshop delegates will be provided with background information and introductory presentations on aquaculture in Scotland and elsewhere, including both food and non-food production.

Nominated task groups will then be asked focus on specific subject areas, defining possible knowledge gaps and opportunities for research and development.

Delegates will be provided with briefing material before the event to help ensure common understanding of the current status and potential future for aquaculture in Scotland.

Full details of the event including travel and accomodation information will be available shortly here.
