Aquaculture has potential to reduce poverty

BANGLADESH - A Policy Stakeholders' Consultation on Dynamic Agribusiness-Focussed Aquaculture for Poverty Reduction and Economic Growth was jointly organised by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, the WorldFish Centre and the Bangladesh Shrimp & Fish Foundation on the occasion of the Annual Fish Fortnight.

One of the goals of the consultation is to provide input to policy formulation in identifying the pathways through which aquaculture can be more effectively linked and mainstreamed into poverty reduction and economic growth strategies of Bangladesh.
