An interesting and professional line up of key speakers relaying news and findings from the sturgeon markets of the world, contact to colleagues from the sturgeon sector, and plenty of information to take home made for a very successful event.

Some of the subjects treated in the numerous presentations included genetics in sturgeon species identification, pneumatic methods of harvesting oocytes and an economic view on luxury products such as caviar.

A focussed presentation on domestic sturgeon cultivation and caviar production in Poland and Turkmenistan proved very interesting.

Key speakers included Paolo Bronzi, Vice President of WSCS, Dr Ludwig Arne and Dr Leonardo Congiu to mention a few.

The inauguration was performed by Jacek Juchniewicz, Aller Aqua, and Prof. Ryszard Kolman, Inland Fisheries Institute in Olsztyn, Poland. The closing presentation, a summary of the 7th international Symposium of Sturgeons, was conducted by Prof. Harald Rosenthal, President of WSCS.

To stay updated on the sturgeon market and ensure your participation in the 8th International Sturgeon Conference, please leave space in your calendar in November 2016.

Details on a 3rd International Carp Conference will also be announced in January/February 2015.
