$100 million shrimp farm to be set up in Yemen

YEMEN - The Saudi Company for Fish will set up a shrimp farm in Yemen at a total cost of $100 million, in addition to investment of fisheries marketing, said Fahd al-Obaikan, the president of the company.

The company is currently working on development and is set to start the project soon says the Yemen Observer.

The ties between Yemen and Saudi Arabia have changed from neighbors into partners, which serves the interest of both countries, he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mahmoud Saghiri held talks with the Saudi investors, who expressed their desire to implement projects in this sector within coming period, about possibilities of setting up projects in the fisheries sector in Yemen.
