UK - With exactly one month to go until Aquaculture UK 2016, the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) is calling for entries for the Aquaculture Innovation Award.

Open to SMEs and large companies alike working within Scottish aquaculture or an aquaculture-related sector, the award will honour one business that’s embracing innovation with tangible results.

“With so many representatives from the Scottish aquaculture sector expected to congregate at Aquaculture UK in Aviemore this May, this key industry event seemed like the natural place to recognise the great work being done across the supply chain,” explains SAIC CEO Heather Jones.

Picking just one company won’t be easy. Says Heather: “Day in, day out, we’re seeing and hearing about an increasing number of innovative initiatives by industry. Everything from trialling new technologies and approaches, to equipping younger generations with the skills and knowledge they’ll need to take Scottish aquaculture forward. So our panel of judges will certainly have their work cut out for them.”

The Aquaculture Innovation Award, which will be presented at the Gala Dinner on the evening of Wednesday 25 May, is just one of the activities SAIC has planned for Aquaculture UK. As well as exhibiting at Stand 30, the team will also be hosting ‘The aquavation sessions: sharing advances, accelerating solutions’ on Thursday 26 May, showcasing the latest insights and technological advances – and how they might be applied to the aquaculture sector.

Attendees will also have the chance to have their say on the proposed Aquaculture Centre of Excellence via live polling and a dedicated, interactive session. For the full line-up of speakers and sessions, click here.

To enter your company for the Aquaculture Innovation Award, simply download the entry form and answer the three questions, then return to liane@scottishaquaculture.com on or before Monday 16 May 2016.
