Workshop to Boost Wisconsin Fish Farms

US - Two new workshops have been planned for Wisonsin this Autumn, in the hope to project the state into the world aquaculture industry.

According to the WisconsinAgConnection, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility, UW-Extension and the Wisconsin Aquaculture Association are sponsoring two 'Beginning Aquaculture Workshops'.

the first will be held September 27 in Star Prairie, with the second program planned for October 25 in Elton.

The workshops, which will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, are tailored to introduce people to the Wisconsin Aquaculture Industry and provide an overview from a small business perspective on how to start and operate a fish farm, reports the news agency. Although aquaculture is the fastest growing segment of agriculture in the world Wisconsin has not experienced that scale of growth.
