Founded in 2004 as a holding company for the two tuna processing companies ISA Value Co Ltd and Unicord PLC, Sea Value combines more than 40 years of experience in the tuna and seafood trade. It operates from three state-of-the-art processing facilities, strategically located in the heart of Thailand and which collectively have the capacity to process up to 1,000 tonnes of fish per day.

As well as tuna, Sea Value produces sardine, mackerel and salmon products in various formats for the global market.

“Sea Value is committed to meeting and exceeding consumer expectations by adhering to the highest levels of manufacturing practices and ethical standards and through the promotion of industrial and environmental sustainability,” says Amornphan Aramwatananont, Senior Vice President at Sea Value PLC.

He continues: “We demonstrate our commitment and contribution to the sustainable use of fisheries resources by supporting the development of innovative and sustainable fishing methods, through active participation in organisations such as the International Pole & Line Foundation, and by working with all our suppliers to ensure that the fish put into each can is free from any illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing practices.”

Membership of IPNLF is open to all stakeholders involved in the one-by-one tuna supply chain, from fisheries associations to processors, caterers and retailers, and all Members are encouraged to engage in fisheries development.

Commenting on Sea Value’s membership, John Burton, Chairman of IPNLF, says: “We are delighted to welcome Sea Value – one of the biggest processors of pole-and-line tuna in the world – as our latest Member. The International Pole & Line Foundation is a hub for proactive companies like Sea Value who want to help drive the sustainable and equitable development of one-by-one caught tuna. The global demand for these products continues to grow at a very rapid rate; as such, IPNLF believes all stakeholders have a crucial role to play in helping the industry bridge the supply gap.”

IPNLF helps to ensure the demand for one-by-one caught tuna can be met without compromising the sustainability of the fisheries, while at the same time providing much-needed support for fishing communities who are heavily reliant upon those stocks.

IPNLF’s role is two-fold: It promotes the environmental and social benefits derived from one-by-one fisheries around the world; and it also help develop and support these fisheries to improve their long-term viability and sustainability.
