During the analyzed period, the rate of growth of production of smoked and salted fish would have been higher if there had not been a contraction in global and domestic catches of herring, said the head of the Analytical Center for Information Fisheries Agency Timur Mitupov.
So, during this period, the production of smoked herring decreased by 11.2 per cent to 4.8 million tons, and salted herring by 6.6 per cent to 37.8 thousand tons.
It should also be noted that in the analyzed period, the growth in average consumer prices for these types of fish products was moderate.
