Lee arrives at Seafish with extensive experience in the aquaculture industry both in the UK and overseas.
Lee has previously worked as an Aquaculture Advisor for the World Wildlife Federation in Vietnam, with Scapa Ltd, Uganda/Business Minds/Stirling University as a Technical Manager (Aquaculture Internship) in Uganda and shortly before joining Seafish, Lee was an Aquaculture Research Analyst/Independent consultant for Monterey Bay Aquarium in California.
As Aquaculture Manager, based in the organisation’s Grimsby office, Lee will be responsible for representing strategic UK aquaculture interests, which include; being the primary contact for Government bodies, key domestic sector stakeholders and facilitating a collaborative approach to delivery of the national aquaculture strategies.
Lee commented “I am looking forward to getting my teeth into this new role at Seafish. This is a fresh approach for this sector that has been based on recommendations from the Seafish Aquaculture Review which specifically asked for a post to be created to address the key issues and constraints of this industry."
Helen Duggan, Head of Responsible Sourcing added “We are excited to welcome Lee into the Responsible Sourcing team and are looking forward to seeing how his experience and expertise will enable us to provide additional support to the UK aquaculture sector, complimenting the existing Seafish work programmes that will continue into the new Corporate Plan.”
Seafish’s new corporate plan will be launched in April, with a series of roadshows which will outline our programme of work for the next three years.
