The announcement comes after Russian food safety agency, Rosselkhoznadzor, suspected McDonald’s cheese suppliers of adding antibiotics to their produce.

Rosselkhoznadzor said it will more closely monitor cheese imports for tetracycline content.

According to the food safety agency, McDonald’s burgers, drinks and ice-cream were also found to contain amounts of fat, protein and carbohydrates as well as calorific values that differ from the amounts listed by McDonald’s in its consumer information, RiaNovosti reported.

Products that could be banned include cheese burgers, royal cheese burgers, Filet-O-Fish, chicken burgers, berry ice cream and milk shakes.
