The Seafood Festival will welcome visitors from around the Maritimes and New England to kick off the
summer tourism season with a three-day celebration of Bay of Fundy seafood. Now in its third year, the
festival will feature free tours of salmon farms, lobster sales right off the boat, special seafood menus in
local restaurants, seafood and wine pairings, music and the biggest lobster boil, clam bake, salmon BBQ
and seafood scoff imaginable.
The Seafood Forum is a remarkable opportunity for seafood professionals and researchers to exchange
information and discuss the evolving topic of sustainable seafood. The forum will welcome seafood
professionals from around the world who will hear diverse perspectives on sustainable seafood and
participate in panel discussions.
Critically-acclaimed chef Jamie Kennedy, a culinary trailblazer who was among the first to cook with
local, seasonal, organic and sustainable foodstuffs, is this years guest chef. In addition to Chef Kennedy,
this years culinary line-up includes: Chef Chris Aerni, owner of the Rossmount Inn in St. Andrews; Chef
Alex Haun, owner and operator of Savour in St. Andrews; Chef Lisa Aronson, Acting Executive Chef at
Algonquin Hotel and Chef Dave Irwin, culinary instructor at NBCC in St. Andrews.
The Seafood Festivals signature event the Seafood Feast on the Beach will be held on Saturday,
June 9, from 7-11 p.m. at Katys Cove. Local seafood producers have teamed up with local chefs to
prepare a seafood buffet to remember lobster, mussels, salmon, scallops and more. Seating is limited.
