For the national director of this institution, Juan Luis Ansoleaga, this determination of India "is a strong sign of confidence in the system of certification of fishery products for export and implemented by Sernapesca and provides enormous opportunities for such shipments from Chile considering that this is a market of more than 1,200 million people."
Recently the authorities of both countries agreed to improve access to India of around 1,100 Chilean products currently entering the market with tariff preferences, including salmon.

CHILE and INDIA - Health authorities of India have accepted the proposal of the National Certificate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Chile (Sernapesca) to import frozen salmon from Chile.
