Imported Raw Material for Processing Increased in 2011

ICELAND - The total amount of imported raw material for fish processing to Iceland in the year 2011 was 82,974 tonnes, an increase of 2,000 tonnes or 2.6 per cent from the year 2010, according to Statistics Iceland.

The value of this import was ISK 9.9 billion which is ISK 1.7 billion higher than the previous year at current prices. Import of blue-whiting, capelin roe, mackerel and shrimp decreased but import of cod, saithe, Atlantic wolfish, spotted wolfish, herring and capelin increased between 2010 and 2011.
