The fund will be used to build 10 boats here where fishing is the source of income of association members, DOLE-Quezon provincial officer Virgilio Magsino said.
Prior to the formal turnover of check, the association requested the local government of Burdeos headed by Mayor Gil P. Establecida to support their livelihood project.
The fisher folk association has also submitted a project proposal to DOLE, Quezon provincial office for further evaluation and approval.

PHILIPPINES - Now, more fishers will be able to go out to sea to fish. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Quezon is set to award P326,140 to Burdeos town on 6 July to help build more boats.
