Guillermo Moran, vice minister of Aquaculture and Fisheries, said that the WWF made the first donation of hooks.

He stressed that the Government and non-governmental organizations are working to develop sustainable fisheries with the implementation of good fishing practices, without neglecting the work of the artisanal fishermen.

Jimmy Martinez, coordinator of WWF fisheries explained that the C15 release hooks allow for fish that are not targeted by the fishery to be released alive. He cited the example of sea turtles.
