The project is to improve the genetic lines of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchusmykiss) by purchasing eggs or fry from the US, Denmark and Spain, in order to avoid inbreeding (breeding between the same family) and to increase production.
It also includes the upgrading and equipping of the two trout breeding centers handled by the institution.
The Policy and Planning Secretariat of Aquaculture will be responsible for executing the project.
