CATC wins vaccine testing licence

Vaccines Regulations +3 more

The Center for Aquaculture Technologies Canada (CATC) has received a licence that will allow it to conduct QC testing of regulated aquaculture vaccines.

CATC, which is located in Prince Edward Island (PEI), received the licence from the Canadian Centre for Veterinary Biologics of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA-CCVB).

The facility, which was estalbished in 2012, was found to be in compliance with the Canadian Health of Animals Act and Regulations. This is the first establishment licence issued by the CFIA-CCVB to an independent contract research organisation for quality control (QC) testing of regulated veterinary biologics and will allow CATC to conduct QC testing of regulated aquaculture vaccines for serial release.
