Cargill seeks salmon health business development manager in Norway

Cargill is currently seeking applications for a salmon health business development manager in Norway.

The company has been active in the region since 2015, when it acquired salmon feed producer Ewos, and currently has four feed manufacturing facilities and a state-of-the-art research and development centre in the region.

The role will involve fostering and growing the current customer base and business development activities related to salmon health.

Key accountabilities

  • Being the key point of contact for customers of the salmon health portfolio, including the sea lice product Releeze.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and commercial partnerships.
  • Creating business development strategies and annual business development plans to reach business objectives and revenue.
  • Working closely with customers to understand business requirements and market needs.
  • Identifying new market segments and opportunities for business development, calculating returns and investment.
  • Obtaining agreement to execute the investment, resources and actions required for business development.
  • Supporting cross-functional processes, including regulatory and marketing authorization.
  • Serving as an expert in the field and working with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues/problems.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aquatic medicine or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience in the salmon industry.
  • Business level English and Norwegian language.
  • Travelling request, up to 30 percent.

Preferred qualifications

  • Aquatic medicine biologist (Fiskehelsebiolog) or professional qualification as veterinarian authorisation and licence as animal health staff from the Norwegian Food Safety Authorities.
  • Veterinarian certificate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop customer relationships and trust through technical knowledge and expertise.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset.
