CHINA - Production capacity for Frozen Pollock Fillet Production in China continues to tighten as orders pile up before Chinese New Year, report Rob Reierson and Kyla Ganton in the Tradex Foods 3-Minute Market Insight.

High demand has even forced some larger plants to stop taking orders before the annual closures in January.

Finished goods typically leave the facilities within a week of production during the busy season so inventories are LOW.

Price points globally are around $1.40 / lb CNF European Main Ports for twice frozen IQF Pollock fillets, down about 5 percent last year this time at just below $1.50 / lb.

Domestically, twice frozen IQF Pollock Fillet pricing ranges from as low as $1.15 / lb to $1.30 / lb in Los Angeles.
