The company's head, Timur Duisengaliyev, said that Zhibek Zholy will initially invest USD2 million in building a trout farm, with eggs and feed to be imported from outside of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This farm will initially produce one tonne of fish per year, later to be increased to an annual four tonnes.

The return on investment will take six years. The project also calls for the building of a USD2 million hatchery to produce 500,000 fry a year. The return on investment for this part of the project will take seven years and seven months.

Timur Duisengaliyev added that the fish farm is aimed at providing raw material to UlkenBalyk, a fishing and fish processing company controlled by Zhibek Zholy. The farm's construction will start this autumn and be completed within ten months.
