SWEDEN - An outbreak of viral haemorrhagic septicaemia has been found in wild Swedish cod.

Six wild cod were randomly picked during fish trawling to be sampled for viral haemorrhagic septicaemia virus within a project run in Hanöbukten.

Two of the cod were infected with the virus, and all the sampled fish were slaughtered.

The virus detected was of the genotype G1b.
