VENEZUELA - The Venezuelan government has approves $7.8 million for the development of fisheries in the country.

The government signed a series of agreements and approved $7.8 million, to be applied over four years, to help reduce poverty through sustainable fishing.

The programme will also evaluate the effect a ban on trawling in the country has had.
