From October 21 2013 Seachill, Coldwater and Icelandic UK trading names will cease to exist as they become part of a united Icelandic Seachill organisation.

The three Grimsby factories which employ over 1500 staff within the UK will continue to operate as distinct manufacturing units. With distinct sector focus these sites will be named “Chilled” (Laforey Road site) “Coated”, (East Site) and “Meals” (West Site) with the former “East Site” becoming the newly named Icelandic Seachill Head Office address.

Malcolm Eley, CEO of the combined organisation now being renamed Icelandic Seachill, commented: “Icelandic Group has decided to rename their three UK operating divisions in recognition that we are now one united business with one combined voice in the market. Our ambition is for Icelandic Seachill to have a unified operating model which will see benefits across the business in terms of supply, sales and production.”

Meanwhile, Icelandic Group’s Belgium division will be renamed from Gadus to Icelandic Gadus. Icelandic Seachill and Icelandic Gadus will all be supported by a new consistent company logo that is in line with the Icelandic logo used in other parts of the world.

Magnús Bjarnason, President and CEO of Icelandic Group, comments: “The renaming of Gadus and our UK businesses underlines the emphasis we place on a more united and collaborative business model to further build on the success we have enjoyed. Our new vision, experienced staff and our unique access to quality fish from sustainable resources will result in higher customer satisfaction”
