Total Value of Icelandic Catch Increased by in January

ICELAND - The total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 13.3 billion ISK in January 2013, compared with 12.6 billion ISK in the first month of 2012, reports Statistics Iceland.

Total value increased therefore by 5.5 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 7.7 billion; thereof cod ISK 4.3 billion, haddock 1.2 billion, and redfish 1.1 billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 5 billion and flatfish catches for 0.6 billion.
