Total Value of Catch Increased by 13.7 Per Cent

ICELAND - The total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 95.6 billion ISK in January-July 2012, compared with 84.1 billion ISK in the first seven months of 2011, according to Statistics Iceland.

Total value increased therefore by 13.7 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 58.9 billion; thereof cod ISK 30.1 billion, haddock eight billion, and redfish 8.6 billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 25.4 billion and flatfish catches for 7.23 billion.
