The tests were performed by the Laboratory of Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Chile, official verification body Sernapesca used for this type of study.

After Crystal Violet was found in a salmon shipment to the US, Sernapesca initiated a series of actions set out in its health protocol: inspections at the sea farming center and freshwater facilities, inspection at food processing plants and inspection and sampling of the Antarctic Sea Fisheries plant where the product was processed before export to the US.

To rule out the use of Crystal Violet in all stages of the production process, the Foreign Trade Deputy Director, Cecilia Solis said that with this background Sernapesca is able to authorise the release of salmon stock at Apiao center, which will happen in the coming days.
