Sustainable Rural Development Promoted in Yucatan

MEXICO - The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (USDA) and the Yucatan Government signed the Convention for the Coordination of Sustainable Rural Development 2013, which includes a joint investment of 265,873,484 pesos for the activation of strategic programmes and projects for the food industry in the state.

The federal government, through the SAGARPA, will provide a total of 207,400,000 pesos for actions aimed at raising productivity, profitability and rural economic activities.

It will also raise the living standards of families in Yucatán.

The signing of this project sets the stage for coordination and cooperation to carry out projects, strategies and actions for Sustainable Rural Development in Yucatan.
