Several processors and fishermen have given their commitment to supply locally caught fish and shellfish for the SSA’s seafood taster sessions at the Aberdeen expo, served up by Chef Tony Jackson of the Buchan Braes Hotel and his team.

Will Clark, chairman of the SSA, said: “We are delighted at the support pledged by fishermen and processors to our popular stand, which is a great collaborative effort and underlines the close working relationship between the two sectors.

“Our stand is always a great focal point for visitors and provides a great opportunity to showcase the very best of Scottish seafood, as well as highlight the versatility of fish and shellfish in the kitchen.”

This year at the Aberdeen expo, the SSA will also be highlighting its new training school in Peterhead created to enhance the skills of processors and fishermen and to encourage new entrants into the industry. The Seafood Training Centre in Farmer’s Lane in Peterhead is already operational and has successfully completed its first courses.

The Skipper Expo Int. Aberdeen 2014 will be held in the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre in Scotland on 30 and 31 May.
