Rs2,000 Million to Develop Northern Fishing Sector

SRI LANKA - The Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry spent Rs 2,000 million last year to develop the fishing sector in the Northern province, Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne said.

"There is a massive development in the fisheries sector. The government has taken measures to develop all sectors," he said.

The minister was speaking at the opening ceremony of the newly built fish market complex in Darga Nagar recently, reports DailyNews.

"The government has done much for the development of Sri Lanka. President Mahinda Rajapaksa is leading the country to development in the correct path providing relief to the public. He has developed the country, especially the North and East provinces," Dr Senaratne said

"The development programmes should be appreciated and we should thank the President for this," the minister said.
