VIET NAM - Through November 2013, Khanh Hoa Seafoods Exporting Company Limited (Khaspexco) reported a five per cent rise in export volume of marine fish of all products. However, the value decreased by 10 per cent compared to the compatible period of 2012.

This year, Khaspexco reduced 15 per cent in price for exported marine products. This was because of lower demand for these kinds of products in the global market. The company had to find more importers from some different markets to compensate losses due to lower demand from Australia.

Many foreign buyers have switched to import whole marine fish instead of fillets like what they did in the previous years, reports VASEP.

Buyers also purchased more marine fish from Thailand and Indonesia as these countries sold products at a 15 – 20 per cent lower price compared to Vietnamese items.

In 2013, Khaspexco tries to get a rise of five per cent in marine fish export volume. The value is hopped to reach the same level of 2012.
