Prince Records Mesage for Summit

CANADA - His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has recorded a special message to the delegates of the 2011 Seafood Summit.

His Royal Highness Prince Charles specifically wanted to share his thoughts with the Summit delegates, the summit organisers said.

His bespoke message will be shared at the Summit close.

Yvon Chouinard, renowned for his innovative ideas to make businesses responsible and economically viable, will be the keynote speaker, while on day two Dr Ray Hilborn, a scientific thought leader, will participate via video to the Summit audience from New Zealand.

Closing the Summit this year will be Hal Hamilton from the Sustainable Food Laboratory, exploring his thoughts on future partnerships and collaboration across sectors.

The Summit, which takes place in Vancouver from 31 January to 2 February is preceded by a workshop on Corporate Ocean Responsibility, during which representatives from the shipping, extractive and ports industries are invited to explore how ocean industries affect each other and, importantly, how they can work together to minimizse collective negative impacts.

New England Aquarium's workshop 'Can We Overcome Hurdles to Producing More Seafood? The Case of Open Ocean Aquaculture,' takes place on Thursday 3 February.
