PM Calls for Aquaculture Development

VIET NAM - The southern province of Ca Mau should take advantage of the natural resources and develop its aquaculture industry - particularly tiger praswns, the Vietnamese prime minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, said during teh groundbreaking ceremony the Ca Mau protein factory in Khanh Anh commune.

The Prime Minister said developing aquaculture would improve local people’s living conditions and contribute to national economic development.

The ground breaking ceremony for the factory was part of a development by the Vietnam National Petrol Group, Vu Han Design Company and Chinese Machine Import-Export Corporation.

This is a key national work approved by National Assembly.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said he highly appreciated the efforts made by the investors and Ca Mau province in clearing the ground, resettling and carrying out necessary procedures.

The Prime Minister also said that this significant work plays an important role in actively producing agriculture, stabilizing the price of fertilizers and national food security, and speeding up the process of industrialization and modernization in the Mekong river delta in particular and in Vietnam in general.

He also asked the investor and local authorities to take care of life and jobs for 240 households, including 70 policy ones leaving for the plant.
