New CEO Appointed for ASA Deep Sea Fishing

NORWAY - Webjrn Barstad has been appointed as the new CEO of ASA deep sea fishing and will take up his position on 1 January 2015.

Mr Barstad has spent the last four years leading the daily operations of Strand Deep sea fishing and he has previously been a manager in the Fishing Vessel Owners' Association (now the Fishing Boat), advisor to the Norwegian Fishermen's Association and started his career in production/sales at the fishing enterprise LS Larsen Eftf.

In 1991 Webjørn Barstad graduated from Heriott-Watt University Business School in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he has BA Hons. Business Association (MBA) and MSc International Banking and Financial Studies.

"I'm very pleased that Webjørn Barstad has agreed to become CEO. Deep sea fishing has hired an accomplished leader," said chairman Frank O. Reite.

"Mr Barstad has extensive experience and a broad network in the fishing industry. His task is to develop a leading trawl, interacting with employees, partners, board and owners."

"I look forward to working with a professional ownership, a competent national organization and talented, dedicated people aboard the boats," said Mr Barstad.
