The agreement will directly impact on economic and social development and promote fisheries research for the benefit of producers in both countries.
The agreement, valid for five years, recognises the importance of fisheries and aquaculture in terms of food, employment, income and foreign exchange earnings, and establishes the commitment to promote the development of research that strengthens the knowledge of the biological status of fisheries and aquaculture resources.
Cooperation activities in the technical, scientific, economic and commercial sectors contribute to strengthening the fisheries sector through the promotion, management and utilization of natural resources of the two countries, so it will be promoted information exchange, training and technology transfer to facilitate and expand bilateral trade.

MEXICO - The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (USDA), through the National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (CONAPESCA), and the Ministry of Agriculture of China have signed an Agreement on Cooperation of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
