Marine Harvest's report stated that the estimated overall decline in production is due to cash flow measures taken in 2011/2012 and Amoebic Gill Disease (AGD) problems in Scotland and Ireland.
Following good growth of harvest volumes last year, Marine Harvest's Scottish farms are the only ones expected to see a growth in volume (four per cent).
For Marine Harvest's other farms, volumes are expected to be down; 20 per cent in Canada, 15 per cent in Chile and 10 per cent in Norway.
