King Mackerel Trip Limit to Decrease in the Northern West Coast Florida Subzone

US - The daily vessel trip limit is reduced to 500 pounds beginning 12:01 a.m., local time, 30 August, 2012, for Gulf group king mackerel in the northern Florida west coast subzone.

This subzone is located in federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico east of the Alabama/Florida state line and along Florida's west coast to the Lee/Collier County line

NOAA Fisheries Service is reducing the trip limit because 75 per cent (or 147,798 pounds) of the 197,064-pound quota is projected to be taken.

The 500-pound daily trip limit will remain in effect the quota is reached or through the end of the fishing year, 30 June, 2013, whichever occurs first.
