Organised by Diversified Business Communications, the annual event - North America’s largest seafood trade show - features more than 1,000 exhibiting companies from 40-plus countries and more than 19,000 attendees from about 100 countries. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Attendees are encouraged to visit GAA/BAP booth No. 481 and to participate in GAA/BAP activities off the show floor:
- GAA’s membership meeting will take place in Room 204B of the BCEC on Sunday, 10 March, from 9 to 10 a.m. At the meeting, GAA staff members will give an update on the status of the BAP third-party certification program, including information on the BAP standards currently in development. Also, information will be available on the various levels of individual and corporate membership.
- GAA’s Mini-GOAL seminar will take place on Monday, 11 March, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 151B of the BCEC, as part of the show’s conference programme. This year’s seminar will feature a recap of GOAL 2013 in Bangkok, a preview of GOAL 2013 in Paris and a panel discussion featuring three prominent retailers — Carl Salamone of Wegmans Food Markets, Kim Taylor of Delhaize America and Scott Williams of BJ’s Wholesale Club.
- Visit the GAA/BAP booth to learn more about the retailers who market seafood from BAP-certified facilities or the producers committed to the BAP programme. The BAP management team will be available to talk about the BAP standards and how the BAP program is governed.
- Also visit the GAA/BAP booth to learn more about GAA’s GOAL 2013 conference, which will take place at the Hotel Pullman Paris Montparnasse in Paris, France, from 7-10 October Information about GOAL 2013 participation and sponsorship will be available. Also available at the booth will be complimentary copies of the March-April issue of the Global Aquaculture Advocate magazine.
