The proposed process includes a new 12-member Standards Oversight Committee (SOC) that would coordinate the development of the BAP certification standards for aquaculture facilities. In addition, the SOC would manage public input and on-going revisions and updates to the BAP standards.
As proposed, committee members will include equal representation from non-governmental conservation and social justice organisations, academic institutions and regulatory agencies, and the aquaculture industry.
Comments on the standards can be submitted online to the Global Aquaculture Alliance. For further details and a submission form click here .
