Fishery Companies Given Help with HACCP

RUSSIA - A subsidiary of the Russian veterinary authority, Rosselkhoznadzor, the FGBU "National Centre for Product Safety in Fisheries and Aquaculture", which is the authorised body for the voluntary certification of quality and safety in the manufacture, processing, storage, transport and distribution of food products, is to continue providing technical assistance to fish-processing enterprises and organisations on the use of HACCP systems.

The FGBU is to help companies with the organisation, implementation and effective functioning of quality and safety in production, based on the principles of the HACCP (food safety) System.

During 2012, at the request of businesses entities a total of 15 educational conferences were organised, in which highly qualified agency experts in the field of certification of management systems based on HACCP principles, explained in detail the main principles for the implementation and effective functioning of HACCP systems.

The conferences attracted 90 experts from fishing and fish processing companies in Murmansk, Astrakhan, Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions.

In order to improve control in fish processing plants and the production of safe products from aquatic resources, the regional divisions FGBU will continue the work in this area.

Educational conferences and workshops are now to be organised in all fishing regions throughou 2013.
