US - Florida has been allocated nearly $342,000 under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act as the states portion of $50 million in feed stimulus funding.

Fish for food, ornamental fish and other aquaculture businesses can apply to the Florida Department of Agriculture for stimulus money to help offset high feed prices.

Stimulus money will be distributed to qualified applicants on a pro-rata basis and eligible aquaculture business operators need to act quickly, according to the authorities, as there is just a 60 window for them to get the money to the farmers, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

The funds are desigfned to help off-set the high cost of feed for aquaculture businesses.

Basically, any aquaculture business operating last year that is still in operation and can certify its feed costs may be eligible for stimulus money.
